Where they are better
Credit where it is due
- Styled EPS. Our EPS is deliberately a plain black-and-white grid, the form a print shop actually wants. If you need colours and shapes in EPS specifically, theirs keeps them.
- More content types. Bitcoin addresses, MP3 and video links, and social-profile shortcuts are ready-made there. On QRCodeEngine you would paste the link as a URL code, which produces the same code with one more step.
- More interface languages. They list more than ten. We have Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Arabic beside English.
- Years of trust. They have been around a long time. We are newer, and we know it.
Where we are better
The things they charge for, free
- Dynamic codes and scan counts are free here. Change where a printed code goes, pause it, see how many scans it got, and read what the numbers mean.
- Bulk from a spreadsheet runs in your browser from a CSV or a Google Sheet, styled like the code on screen, with every code checked.
- Every code is scanned before you download it. A logo that is too big or a colour that is too light is caught before it is printed, not after.
- Print sheets as PDF: stickers, cards, table tents and posters at exact sizes, plus a size test sheet so you can check which size scans from across the room.
- A reader for checking what any code contains, and an API that needs no key.
Switching
Codes you already printed keep working
A static code made anywhere contains its content directly, so nothing about it depends on the generator that made it. Codes you made on QR Code Monkey do not need remaking. For the next code, and for anything you want to edit or count later, start here.
